Join us as a graduate and you'll get the opportunity to participate in a vast array of learning activities that are both classroom-based and on the job. You'll get to work with senior managers and network with colleagues from all over the Club; you might even get to work on a stretch assignment from time to time.

You can join us in one of 3 streams: Technology, Business Functions, or Corporate Functions, depending on where your interests and competencies lie. No matter which area you choose you can be certain of a training experience that is second to none.

 

LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT

During your career with us, you’ll benefit from access to some of the best educational resources and insights from internationally renowned experts. Our employees receive an average 42.9 hours every year and no expense is spared when it comes to helping you learn and improve your skills.

The Graduate Trainee Programme is a 2-year journey that provides a combination of on-the-job experience and formal training activities. It is organised into 4 specific areas – we call it our 4E Learning & Development Framework and it stands for, Education, Experience, Exposure, and Evaluation.

 

TECHNOLOGY

When you think about the HKJC, leading edge technology might not be the first thing that comes to mind. But with a race-day peak of 7 million transactions, our IT infrastructure requires world-class digital experts. The pace of change is breath taking, but luckily we have the resources to stay ahead and give our customers the experience they demand. So if you want to work on wide-ranging projects and innovative technology solutions - our Technology team could be for you.

 

BUSINESS FUNCTIONS

Our Business Functions departments are the crucial interface between the Club, its customers and the wider community. They play a vital role in ensuring we offer an entertainment experience that excites and delights racing fans and Club members, while also helping us engage with the community through charity projects.

You might find yourself guiding colleagues in the delivery of customer relationship management, directing complex catering and clubhouse operations, or devising new entertainment experiences at our two racecourses. Equally you may find yourself making a social impact through our charity programmes.

Agile, adaptable and dynamic are just a few words to describe our Business Functions. With opportunities to work across the entire business, we offer a unique learning environment where you can develop your skills - and have a lot of fun along the way.

 

CORPORATE FUNCTIONS

Our Corporate Functions departments play a major role in shaping the strategy of the HKJC as well as keeping it running day-to-day; all so that we can live up to our reputation as a leader in social, corporate, and environmental responsibility.

The scope of our business means that you might find yourself developing and managing our property assets, upholding the Club's high standard of integrity as part of our security team or delivering people solutions to our 22,000-strong workforce. As the number six top contributor to charitable causes in the world and one of the world's most admired racing organisations, we want colleagues who are passionate about the work we do both on and off the track.

 

About You

We are looking for outstanding graduates who have less than three years of full-time work experience, exceptional credentials, and the following qualities:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

  • Demonstrated leadership potential
  • Superb interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Technologically savvy
  • Excels in a collaborative, multi-cultural and dynamic work environment
  • Excellent command of English and Cantonese
  • (Proficiency in Putonghua will be an advantage)

 

What to Expect

Our recruitment process moves very quickly. All applicants can expect an update on the status of their candidacy by the end of January. Selected applicants will be contacted to schedule online aptitude tests, after which point only successful applicants will receive an invitation to attend an in-person interview with HKJC staff members.
